Bidet

Hi, fellow struggling students!!! I hope everyone’s still doing okay after all these barrage of assessments.

I am on the train and it’s a long ride home so to kill time, I just wanna read your thoughts about having bidets in our campus toilets? I personally am still adjusting to the toilet paper culture here in Oz and bruh, can my woohoo ever adjust to this dilemma? 💀

As a new student, I am impressed* by the amount of Dyson hand dryers that Monash has to boast… BUT as a regular uni-pooper, I always find myself fighting for my cherry with a rough 2-ply? I mean… it’s a choice.

Coming from a background where water is a popular standard of hygiene, transitioning to "dry, and rough rubbing" isn’t exactly a pleasurable and refreshing(???) experience. It feels like trying to clean peanut butter out of an apple (🍎 as in imagine the butt or the center part of the fruit where the stem is at) with a paper towel. It’s a struggle. And we can keep on struggling but ummm interesting debris will just persist and exist. I personally don’t love walking with such baddies.

I don’t intent to colonize. I’m not trying to be a bidet evangelist. I am not here to impose but wouldn't it be nice to have the option? Right now, the closest thing we have to a bidet is the "emotional support water bottle" or a makeshift douche, and let me tell you, the logistics of that in a public stall are… chaotic. Like, don’t you hate it when you accidentally drink from your slightly used portable bidet.

To my fellow Asians/International students: How are we doing in the land down under?

To the locals: Do you ever feel like you're missing out on that "freshly showered" slash hydrated feeling mid-day? Or am I just being a chaotic over-sharer while we’re all collectively dying from assignments?

Would love to see a discussion so PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS!!!
