Progress after 2,5 hours
So since my teen years I’ve had a bit of coarse hairs on my upper lip but since getting diagnosed with POI and taking hormones (both estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) my upper lip has decided it wants to grow a female moustache. Yes - I know it could be worse. This has taken such a toll on my self esteem and with the risks of facial laser treatment, I decided to do electrolysis. We have just one clinic in my city.
I have had four sessions so far, one in february march, april and may (two weeks apart, break, then two sessions two weeks apart again). Usually I do 30 minutes but went a full hour last time with about 45 minutes spent on my lip, which was obviously too much as my lip was swollen for 1,5 days and I developed the wounds you see. I will limit it to 30 minutes in the future.
She has focused mostly on the thicker outer hairs but she is working her way in slowly.
I have always had a tendency for redness (PIE?) after zits and wounds that go away after some months, but I am in this wierd mid-treatment phase where I feel like my skin just looks so awful and there’s still so much hair.
I think I just need some words of encouragement, or maybe reassurance that my lip will look normal again. I know four sessions is still very early.
I already had a bit of discolouration in the right side as you can see, from digging hair out with a tweezer for years. I’ve always been super embarrased about the growth.
What do you think? Is there any hope for me or my lip to ever look light and feminine?
