rental to avoid in Cary NC

In my opinion…

It would be best to avoid renting from 984 Lemster Lane, Cary NC 27519. Owner lies, claims in the posts that the place is cleaned every 3 weeks and that does not happen every 3 weeks, its more like every 4-8 weeks.

Claims he wants respect but does not give it. Says he will do something or that does not happen here, but does the opposite.

If something breaks, he will try to fix it himself and says it’s fixed when it is not. Will pretend to fix things for a week before calling a professional.

Will have late guests till like almost midnight at times, have full on conversations without any consideration if others are trying to sleep.

Smoke detector on the first floor was never fixed, has wires hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector used to be, and that has been over a year.

Will hold you to the letter of the lease but not vice versa. If you hold him to the lease, he will deny, deny, deny.

This individual does not keep their word.

Dear Travelers;

In My Opinion… Travelers and Healthcare Professionals should avoid taking a contract or employment at Duke hospital in Durham, NC due to their Discriminatory practices.

In July 2025 Duke made CNN headlines with 100 Million in federal funds frozen due to Systemic Discrimination. CT radiology Manager is all about Toxic Positivity. It is time to Boycott this institution, because bad management will DNR (do not rehire) you in a heartbeat just for simply disagreeing.

What you will be walking into:

This is affecting my psychological safety.

I’m concerned about a hostile work environment.

I’m noticing a pattern of exclusion & inconsistent policy enforcement.

September 2025

You will be pressured/harassed into quitting so they don’t have to pay unemployment.

Duke is full of it. They already cut PTO for employees by not allowing folks to take any PTO. Managers will say “you have to arrange for coverage for yourself” and “you have to get agreement from multiple coworkers to cover for you” and then if you cannot juggle that, you do not get Time Off. Then at the end of the year, when you have been unable to take even a week Off, their lunacy HR dept offers to pay out PTO you did not get, at 50%. You literally get 50% of the PTO that is your contract.

CT radiology male supervisor gave overtime shifts to a permanent staff Tech and then takes the shifts away and gives them to his wife who worked there PRN.

CT radiology female supervisor’s husband who works in the same dept. was awarded a weekend shift that was never posted for other staff to apply for.

If you are an RN and whisper the word Union, you will be retaliated against to quit.

Early 2023 CT radiology management asked their PRN Staff to sign form stating they would be told when they would work, needless to say, they lost 4 PRN staff within weeks of that. If you are permanent staff management will lie to you and say “Thank you for what you do.”  The Director allows all this to happen and continue even after staff have spoken with the so called director.

Cat Scan Manager and supervisors can never give an honest straight answer to Travelers when it comes time to end the contract or renew, instead brow-beaten into taking a permanent position. This is bullying by the Manager and HR does nothing about it. You will be Pressured into doing a 26 week contract by the Manager. Also, good luck getting a lunch. Manager and supervisor also play favorites when it comes to assignments. If you are managements pet, you don’t have to rotate to the other assignments that other staff rotate to. One traveler was yelled at by the female supervisor for wearing an N95 on a possible covid patient in 2021, just for wanting to protect their health, and the female supervisor suffered no consequences. This same supervisor with limit your professional growth just because they don’t like you. This same supervisor wrote up a staff member for something that has happened to other staff, that is plain Harassment. The Manager lies to entire staff and claims an open-door policy only to turn things around and make it seem like you are the problem.
