Does lower cost imply inexperience?

I’m a babysitter/nanny and have grown up around kids - having looked after each of my 25 younger cousins at some point from infant to about 10yo.

I do babysitting as a ‘side-hustle’ only when I’d like a bit of extra money, so charge $16/hr for one child.

Most other babysitters in my area charge about $25 for one child, and babysitters with childcare experience (like daycare roles) charge more.

Does my lower cost imply lack of experience or lower quality care? I’m not really interested in charging more, just curious about people’s thoughts.

Short-term Aupair?

Hi all,

I’m really interested in becoming an au pair during my upcoming mid year uni break; June - early July, but I’m not 100% sure on the application process and the constraints as an Australian. Are there short-term, like 1 month long roles?

I think I’d want to go to an English speaking country, just because the country of the language that I do speak quite proficiently (Indonesian) doesn’t seem to have much demand for au pairs. So, US, Canada, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, etc. However, I’m unsure which agency would be best?

Apart from that, are there any qualifications that I should get? I currently work as a nanny/house manager in Aus, and babysit for a different family, so definitely already have experience. As well as my Working With Children Check and National Police Check.

Would appreciate any advice or thoughts/opinions about being an au pair in the countries listed!!
