I’m currently setting up a Pilates studio and planning to install a few Spring Wall units, but one thing is making me nervous.
The wall I’d use is not a fully solid concrete/brick wall — it’s drywall/rigips. Behind it there seems to be some empty space before the actual structural wall, but I honestly have no idea how much space or what the construction behind it looks like.
My biggest fear is obvious:
I don’t want the unit ripping out of the wall while someone is training. 😅
So I wanted to ask:
Has anyone mounted Spring Walls on drywall before?
Did you reinforce the wall somehow?
Is this generally considered unsafe?
Did you anchor directly into studs or into the structural wall behind?
Would you completely avoid this setup?
I’d really appreciate any real-world experience, especially from studio owners or installers.
