Unmarried Partner Visa Evidence Check
Hello all!
My partner (21M British citizen) and I (25M Serbian/Bulgarian citizen) are looking to apply for an unmarried partner visa as soon as we tick all the eligibility boxes. We have been together long distance (0 cohabitation or joined utility) for 5 years now and we're eager to close the gap already. Right now, for the hard stuff, we need one more payslip proving the minimum income and my partner is looking for a place to move out so we comply with accommodation space.
We're slowly starting to gather and build the documentation to prove the relationship is akin to marriage and we plan to include the stuff as follows:
-flight and hotel/apartment bookings for 11 visits and vacations including 3 to my country and 5 to his, often during notable events like birthdays and holidays
-photos from the times we were together (including him at my masters defending presentation and him with my parents)
-larger and some smaller transfers between eachother for bookings and other stuff
-concert tickets for 2 concerts of our favorite bands
-physical stuff we've gifted and shipped to eachother (ie. flagship phone, giant box of snacks, hand made plushy, cards..)
-few letters from people in the UK confirming our long lasting and committed relationship
-some other stuff which I'm not thinking off right now
We understand that we're slightly lacking on the financial proof that the relationship is akin to marriage so we're considering starting a joined savings account. It wouldn't be an actual joined account, but rather I'd be sending my partner a sum of money every month and he will put it, alongaide an equal amount from him, into a separate savings pot which we won't touch.
We know that we should have started sooner than 3 months before applying, but we were thinking of spinning it as "when we started to feel the application for me to move to the UK was near, we wanted to start a saving pot" or something along the lines. Would something like this be a convincing piece of evidence for the home office that we share financial responsibility? It's difficult to share responsibilities and intermingle our finances when all transfers come with wiring fees...
Along that, we are considering having my partner add me as a beneficiary to his insurance and pension funds in case he's in an accident. Has anyone ever done that with a partner that is from abroad? Is it even possible and will this be worth out time right now?
We would greatly appreciate any info or saying whether we have a chance with this type of visa. We've seen posts of people getting approved with more proof and also with less proof but nevertheless, we want to air on the side of immense caution and strengthen the application as much as possible.
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this and for all the replies!
