Alps honeymoon recommendations

We're getting married September 2026 and I'm currently researching honeymoon destinations in the Swiss Alps. I've seen a lot of people reccommending Zermatt as a romantic spot and I've found some gorgeous resorts but worried that its going to be too busy and expensive, is it worth the money for the experience or are there other areas just as good? Will the area be okay in Feb/March if we try to avoid the half term break (we're UK based)?

We're not expecting to skii, if we can afford it closer to the time we might hire for a day but other than that we're interested in exploring the area and going out to eat. As its our honeymoon I'll be looking for hotels with a spa and more high end looking.

6 months out - am I missing anything?

Our wedding is in September and I want to make sure there's nothing I'm forgetting. We do have a meeting and menu tasting with the venue's wedding coordinator in June so hopefully I can find out more abotu how other people have decorated the venue etc.

The venue has in house catering, bar, staff etc so thats makes things a lot easier, and its also linked with a hotel so we had the night before and night of included in the hire price. Its a regency style building used as a member club so its already got its own style so I wasn't going to go crazy with decorations other than flowers but open to suggestions!

Booked suppliers:

  • Registra
  • Pianist - Ceremony and drinks reception
  • MUA / Hairstylist - For myself and two of the bridesmaids
  • Photographer
  • Florist
  • Music - Hired speaker system + set up as making our own playlist to save money
  • Games - Hired lawn games (giant jenga, croquet etc) and a kids tent with activities

I was also going to do a little table with a polaroid guestbook and a scrapbook I did of my fiancé and I since we were 18 for people to look through, and a temporary tattoo bar. My mum said that she'd do a bathroom basket for the ladies with hair stuff and toiletries as a nice extra touch.

I'm sending invites this month and then we're going to sort out wedding favours. Is there anything I'm missing? Or any games or other suggestions/advice?
