Thoughts on this second hand M3 max?

I'm looking at a 2nd-hand M3 Max MacBook Pro from a physical shop. The seller admitted he opened the bottom case to "verify the internals were legit" before he bought it from the first owner (the seller I am buying from is a reseller)

Specs & Data from my inspection:

  • Model: M3 Max (16-core CPU / 40-core GPU), 48GB RAM, 16-inch.
  • OS: macOS Sequoia 15.1.5.
  • Battery: 447 Cycles, 87% Maximum Capacity (Condition: Normal).
  • Diagnostics: Ran Apple Diagnostics (D-key on boot); result was ADP000 (No issues found).
  • Parts History: No "Parts and Service" section appears in the "About" menu.
  • Activation Lock: Disabled.

My Questions for the experts:

  1. Is it common/legit for a dealer to open an M3 Max just to "check it," or is this a cover story for a repair?
  2. If the diagnostics says "No Issues" and "No Parts History," can I trust that the internals are 100% original even if the bottom screws were turned?
  3. What specific hardware "stress test" should I run in the shop (which also runs fast) to see if the performance is like original and that thermal paste or cooling wasn't messed up when it was opened?

Sorry if I missed anything
