I was wasting so much time doomscrolling everyday. But all the current accountability apps never worked for me. I found this app called Bounty that uses money as an incentive to stay accountable to your goals. So everytime i tried (or wanted) to doomscroll, i would loose $5. Loss Aversion is real

When i discovered the "Loss Aversion" Principle, which means having skin in the game with your goals and habits to stay accountable. I started putting money on going to the gym each day with my friend and we made a habit contract, that stated we had to venmo each other $10 if we skipped. It changed everything tbh. I hit my gym goals and felt real pressure to stay accountable to my goals.
The day i realized the concept of "Loss aversion" is when my whole perspective changed on how to stop spending hours doomscrolling. It's basically putting skin in the game to keep you accountable to your goals. So i showed my screentime to my roommate at the end of everyday and if it was over an hour on social media, i paid him $10. all of a sudden my screentime started going down, and i had time to pursue other hobbies. Anyways, after doing that for awhile, i actually found an app that does it by itself. I've used it ever since, and it's been awesome
I'm not sure if i agree with all of these, but again curious how this data is measured.
I went down a rabbit hole because i wanted to see what i could actually get done with the amount of time wasted doomscrolling.
If the average person spends 4.5 hours a day on their phone
In a full year they could use that time to...
Complete a Year of University: A full-time college student taking 15 credits per semester spends about 1,350 hours a year on class and studying. You could finish an entire freshman year of college with 300 hours to spare.
Learn Two New Languages: According to the Foreign Service Institute, it takes about 600–750 hours to reach "Professional Working Proficiency" in languages like Spanish, French, or Italian. You could become fluent in two languages and still have time for a long vacation.
Walk Across America (Twice): At an average walking pace ($3$ mph), you could walk 4,927 miles. That is enough to walk from New York City to Los Angeles and back again.
I made a full 5 page PDF doc with claude with dozens of more lists of things you could accomplish in the equivalent time period. PM me if you want me to send it to you
I read a crazy stat that states an entire month of the year is wasted on simply doomscrolling for Gen Xers. That is absurd! Imagine what you could be doing with that time.
this is NOT self promo, i just want to share my story of a lifelong ADHDer and how i've learned to overcome it. Like the title says, i want to stop procrastinating, so i've been building an app for the past year that uses money as an incentive to stop procrastination. It's called Bounty. If anybody wants the details send me a PM. It honestly has helped me a ton since money pressures me to do what i say i will and not procrastinate it

Hormozi says: The best way to stay accountable for time management is every 15 minutes write down a one word response to explain what you did. Do this for every hour of work for the day.
Outcome: You will be shocked by how much you actually get done, and how much time you waste on things that don't directly correlate to outputs.
Guys i lost 10 pounds in less than a month by using an app called Bounty! Basically it connects to my Strava to determine if i went on my morning run by 9am everyday. And it keeps me motivated because if i don't do what i say, it'll send $10 to my best friend- which keeps us both accountable. Honestly, it's the only app that has actually helped me stay accountable to my goals
So, i'm new to Modding. Anybody got some advice on how to organically grow on here? I have a vision for my page, but want to attract the right kinds of people (people that want to stay accountable to their goals)
I wanted to make this community to help others stay accountable to their goals/habits. I myself have always struggled to stay consistent with my goals, but i know by being open and vulnerable to a community will help me to stick to my word.
With that being said, this should be an safe space for others who want to share helpful tips and tricks to what they have done to help reach their goals.
For me, i have always strugged with getting out of bed on time. I have tried countless different things... but for those of you who have consistantly got out of bed before 7am everyday for more than a month consistantly, what has helped you to do it?
