I finished the complete French course in 205 days working an average of 2.5 hours per day. I did skip some of the first part of A1 due to some prior experience with the language (I lived in a francophone African country for two years over 50 years ago).

I found that the course was quite good at teaching writing and grammar skills and building some useful vocabulary. In addition, I read novels in French (I recommend Jules Verne), and I watched Netflix French series with the subtitles also in French. I'm getting ready to go to France for three weeks and I feel pretty confident in my ability to communicate. When I return, I intend to attend events at my town's Alliance Francaise which seems to be pretty active. I live in the United States.
