Came home with these books today and bf said I’m being corrupted

So yeah as the title says. I came across a Jessica Valenti book online so I stopped by my bookstore to pick up one, but they didn’t have what I wanted, so I picked these up instead. I want to learn more about the history of misogyny and overall educate myself (I’m also going through a phase where I’m unsure if I want children, so why not read about it?)

I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years. He’s told his mom I have a feminist side, whatever that means. Then he asked me what made me want to get these books so I told him, he replied something along the lines of “interesting”

Nonstop periods on Nexplanon.. 2 years in?

Hi. I don’t know how much more I can take of this.

I’ve had the implant for 2 years and it’s been fine. Minimal side effects (headaches and missed periods). Now suddenly, ever since December, I’ve had two periods each month. I’ve been bleeding now since April 23rd. I’ve lost my libido and can’t have sex and I hate it. Any time I try and get myself in the mood, I remember that I’m constantly bleeding and my body shuts down the idea of sex or intimacy

The Earth consists of mothers and their children

I saw this on Twitter I believe and I recited it to my boyfriend to see what he thought. I thought it was quite powerful and easy to understand, and I appreciated the emphasis on mothers.

He responded with something along the lines of “the earth consists of fathers and their children” to counter it. While it’s true, I don’t know, it reminded me of how easy it is that people turn a story to include themselves more
