A hot tub suctioned me down and I was unable to get myself free until it was turned off
****MY MID BACK TO BUTT ARE BRUISED BLACK, IM IN A LOT OF PAIN****Okay so I’m (21f) on vacation in Germany right now, and I was in the hot tub at our apartment with my brother. It was all going fine, and then he got out so I decided to turn around and face where he was. This hot tub is a three seater. There are two seats facing my brother, and one facing away, in the middle. For whatever reason, I decide to go in the middle of the hot tub to face him. So I’m essentially backwards in the seat. I was floating for the most part but some of my back/legs were resting on the structure beneath me. Now the first time I felt the suction and it pulled me down, and I was able to pull myself back up. Now I thought it was odd sure that it pulled my full body down, but we’ve all put our hands over the jets in a public pool and felt how it suctions you, so I thought it was fine. Then, it suctioned me back down, but this time, fully down. Luckily I’m fairly tall so my head was out of the water, and my hair was tied up. I couldn’t pull myself out and it immediately became IMMENSELY painful. I started screaming for my brother to turn it off, which he didn’t manage to do for idk 10 seconds? It felt like millennia. To be fair, he is 12 and got very scared by me screaming. Also the hot tubs is controlled by a screen not even physical buttons. Anyways, my back is quite literally black with bruising now. There are multiple rings from the individual jets, BUT Also a whole section of my back that has an almost even bruising across like it was a big rectangle opening or something pulling me down?? Because of my screaming, my aunt, uncle, and other brother came out. My aunt remarked that “that’s where your feet go” and that’s why it suctioned me, because I was sitting improperly. However, the sheer force it was suctioning me with, seems like it would have been unsafe for your feet too. Furthermore, I’ve been looking it up and I can’t find much, but it seems like it could be missing the suction covers, which is apparently a pretty big safety feature. Now this is really embarrassing but this whole ordeal did cause me to defecate myself while I was being suctioned (or rather it sucked the shit out of me😐), and in my research I found that this kind of hot tub suctioning can cause evisceration. Obviously my intestines are still in my body, but now I’m really freaking out that my intestines have rips in them or im gonna get hemorrhoids, or a prolapse or something and I don’t know what to do. (Btw I have already been told by a doctor that I have poor collagen aka the structure of my body (connective tissue) is shitty. I scored an “8 or 9” on the Beighton scale when assessed by a Dr, and I suspect I have hEDS, although not diagnosed. But that in and of itself can cause prolapse). Not to mention I have to fly home in 3 days (one 8 hour flight, one 3 hour flight). I also think that my family isn’t understanding like how much pain it actually put me in and that I’m in now. So yeah if anyone can give me some helpful information it would be much appreciated. I’m not sure if this was my fault for sitting improperly, or if it was a malfunction, I don’t know if I should be worried for my health/should go to the doctor, if I can get a payout (lmao), or if I just have to deal with it, especially since I am currently in a foreign country!
