Recently started working out. Need some guidance.
Hey guys so i recently started working out, with my end goal being just a better looking body and a healthier lifestyle. I dont wanna get into body building and such, just a healthier lifestyle.
I am a bit overweight and have started to workout on my own. I created a push/pull/legs workout from chatgpt and follow it. Also trying to maintain a good diet.
I am currently lifting weights with gradually increasing amount (5 - 7.5 - 10 so on) but a fellow friend from the gym (dude is a proper body builder) says i should hit a max weight i can on the first set (20, 15 etc) and lower it by 5 if absolutely necessary. I have done that and no doubt its given me more of a pump and i feel better.
But what would be better gradually increasing weights or just going for it?
I am not a complete beginner but i would say i am still a novice at best.
