Update on my CEL post from yesterday...

To the people who said check the gas cap 😅

I told my service advisor to check the gas cap. He told me it wasn't throwing any faults for the tank. That was this morning.

I asked for an update a few minutes ago...suddenly it's "we need to replace the tank ventilation valve". Oh?? I thought y'all didn't get that error...the same error that would show if you need to tighten the gas cap 🤦🏾‍♀️

I truly feel like it doesn't need to be replaced. They just need to tighten the gas cap. But pop off 🤷🏾‍♀️ guess I'll see tomorrow. Just venting my frustration that he said it's not a problem and now they say they need to replace something that would throw the same code as what he told me wasn't the case. Like did y'all even TRY the gas cap? It won't always go off immediately. Sometime you gotta drive it. And they haven't driven it....

But what do I know? I'm just a girl who wants her BRAND NEW CAR back 😤

Check engine light 😕

Got a new X5 M60i about a week and a half ago...it's been lovely ☺️

On Monday we got some STUPID heavy rain. I left my house to get my daughters from daycare (less than a mile drive). There was a lot of water on the ground but I didn't drive thru anything deep...but when I got back into the car from the daycare, the engine light was on. Weird. Finished my trip, another 2-3 miles round trip to get my other daughter. Parked in the driveway and didn't go anywhere else. Next morning, went to my usual 5am gym run and the light was off! Yay!!

Still wanted to take it in because it didn't sit right to see that light on a car that only has 500 miles. So...gym, kids drop off and then straight to BMW when they opened. That was maybe 30-35 miles and the light didn't come back on.

BMW found that my air flaps weren't actuating all the way so they replaced it and told me I could come back and get my vehicle. Got there, excited as all get out to have my baby back 🤗 transferred car seats from the loaner, hopped in the driver seat and what do I see? The engine light 😑

So they put me back in a loaner. That was around 3pm yesterday. Still haven't heard anything today and it's creeping up on 1pm. Anybody have anything similar happen? I really thought they just forgot to clear the codes once they replaced the flaps but I'm getting nervous now 😮‍💨
