Hello, I’m having a nightmare trying to fly my two large dogs (27kg and 33kg) with me from UK to Calgary early June. I would prefer them to be on the same flight as me. I have nobody in Canada who can receive them on my behalf so they can’t fly out before me and I want to limit my time apart from them as much as possible. I want to fly direct to save travel time and possibilities for things to go wrong. I’m also trying to do it the most cost effective way.

Options I have explored so far:

Air Canada will only accept one dog per flight from LHR to YYC for some unknown reason. I’m flying on my own so I don’t know how I can make this work.

WestJet won’t fly dogs from the UK in the hold. I could drive to Paris and fly from there but that would be a headache.

British Airways go direct to Vancouver and then I could drive to Calgary from there but they only take pets in hold using their preferred partners which are £££.

Export companies that handle the process are £4000+. Also, I wouldn’t want my dogs to be separated from me for longer than necessary.

I’m really not sure what to do. Any advice greatly appreciated!
