Treatment-resistant anxiety

Does anyone else have severe anxiety that has not improved with any treatment or medication? I am now prescribed olanzapine 2.5mg for my anxiety which is used as a last resort because of the side effects. It is an antipsychotic medication and I now take two antipsychotics, quetiapine at night for sleep too.

I have been taking olanzapine for a week now. I thought it was helping but today I have had really bad anxiety. This medication makes me feel slightly drowsy which makes me feel anxious because it reminds me of diazepam and why I need to take that. I think now the only solution is diazepam but I can’t take that daily or it stops working. So there is no medication that actually helps that I can take daily.

My psychiatrist said my anxiety is part of my autism and I can’t get rid of it. If you relate what helps you?

Is anyone else on two antipsychotics

I have been taking 100mg of quetiapine at night for sleep for six years. Last week my psychiatrist started me on 2.5mg of olanzapine for anxiety/emotion dysregulation. My pharmacist said that you should not be prescribed two antipsychotics at once due to side effects. My psychiatrist did not say the olanzapine was to replace any of my medications. Is anyone else on two antipsychotics at the same time?

Distress during support

Hello. I’m autistic with complex needs. I’m curious how other people make sense of difficult or overwhelming moments in support/care settings.

I started receiving support in January 2025, and after a difficult period I no longer work with two of my previous support staff. I’ve recently started with two new staff, which has been a big change.

I still feel quite unsettled about the change and I miss the previous staff. I was told the change was to reduce anxiety, but they didn’t feel anxiety-inducing to me, so I’m still trying to understand and process it. The new support feels different and I’m still adjusting.

I’m wondering why changes like this happen in support? How do other people deal with guilt around times when things don’t go smoothly?
