I’ve heard Rogue Core can get pretty difficult compared to DRG, but after watching a lot of gameplay footage recently, I’m curious how true it is for players used to modded DRG difficulties. From what I’ve seen so far, the swarms in RC look a bit underwhelming, especially for a game that’s more combat-oriented. The terrain also doesn’t seem to create many difficult situations, there don’t appear to be many tough stationary enemies either, and the enemy variety looks fairly limited at the moment. I understand that gameplay videos don’t always represent how a game actually feels, but I’ve seen clips of people clearing entire announced swarms without even needing to move, and it makes the combat look really easy.

Deep Rock Galactic is my favorite game, and I’ve devoted well over 2000 hours to it. I’m genuinely excited about Rogue Core, so my expectations are probably way higher than they should be. I’m definitely getting into Rogue Core, but unfortunately I’m not lucky enough to get picked to playtest it myself. Most of what I’ve seen has been overwhelmingly positive, so I’m more interested in hearing the criticisms or concerns people have.
Because I’m honestly afraid I might end up mildly disappointed because of how hyped I am for it.
