What "Rules" of growing do you regularly break?

ive been thinking about this a lot lately. Obviously, there are infinite ways and methods of getting from seed to harvest and everyone prefers all sorts of different methods and techniques. But there's also a bunch of "rules" for growing that are generally followed and believed to be true.

That said, im sure many of these are often broken with beneficial or at least non problem causing effects. So what typical rules of growing do you tend to break?

For me, I tend to defoliate my autoflowers heavily and pretty much constantly through stretch and flower, even though its said it could cause issues (it never does).
