Victim of a $70k theft in Miami Beach and still cannot even get a detective assigned

Looking for honest input from law enforcement people here.

I was the victim of a high-value luxury watch theft in Miami Beach. Approximate value is around $70k. There was also battery involved and what appears to be drugging/incapacitation behavior on surveillance footage.

A police report was filed immediately with Miami Beach PD. It has now been over a week and I still do not even have a detective assigned.

I have called repeatedly, left voicemails, and physically went to the department three separate times. So far I have received essentially zero follow-up or communication.

Meanwhile, surveillance footage windows are expiring and I have been trying to preserve evidence myself. I even hired a private investigator because I felt like nothing was happening.

My question is:

Is this normal for a case like this in a major city? Does this simply mean the department is overloaded, or does it usually indicate the case is effectively low priority unless new evidence appears?

Also, what is the correct way to escalate this professionally without becoming “that guy” constantly calling or showing up?

I'm becoming desperate and frankly I feel left alone.

Need recommendation for an aggressive PI in Miami Beach for luxury watch theft case

Can anyone recommend a serious private investigator in Miami or Miami Beach?

This is for a luxury watch theft case. Police report is already filed with Miami Beach PD, but it has been over a week and I still do not even have a detective assigned.

I already hired one PI, but he focused almost entirely on facial recognition and that has gone nowhere. I need someone far more proactive and hands-on.

I need a PI who will actually:

- push businesses/buildings/security staff for footage,

- speak to employees, doormen, bartenders, valet staff, etc,

- help reconstruct the timeline and identify the exit path,

- stay on top of police and help move the case forward,

- understand nightlife-related thefts and organized crews,

- and ideally have experience handling reward-based cases and knowing where/how to publicize them effectively.

I am willing to offer a $10k reward for information leading to identification/capture of the person responsible.

Ideally looking for someone with former law enforcement experience, especially robbery, organized theft, or high-value theft cases.

Please only recommend people you have personally worked with or genuinely vouch for.

My watch got stolen

This happened in Miami on the night of May 1st.

A Patek Philippe 5205R-010 in 18k rose gold with a black lacquer dial, gold applied indexes, and a black leather strap featuring a rose gold Patek Philippe Calatrava cross deployant clasp. One of the leather keeper loops on the strap has visible discoloration and wear where the top layer has rubbed off slightly, making it a potentially identifiable characteristic.

Where would the thieves resell it most likely? Anyone seen it? I have a $500 reward out on it for any tips leading to it and the person that stole it.

For tips about the person I'm offering a $10k reward.

Would attach images but does not seem supported here.
