



North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a pet shop in Pyongyang with his daughter Kim Ju Ae around April 2–3, 2026, petting dogs and cats while inspecting newly built public facilities in the Hwasong area, a large-scale housing development.
He highlighted the growing trend of pet ownership in the capital and other regions, calling for specialized services and expanded production of pet-related goods, including food, grooming tools, and veterinary medicines. Kim also toured an automobile service center, a music shop, and a hair salon, praising their modern equipment and service systems designed to meet consumer needs.
