So my mother in-laws cousins fiancé just passed away and knowing that I am looking to buy a vehicle offered me a very good deal on their 2009 BMW 650i . She could sell it or trade it in for probably a lot more than the 1000$ she's asking for it but because im family wanted to see if I wanted it. The car is in great cosmetic condition. Unfortunately she doesn't know much about it besides that it runs and has 150k miles on it. I don't want to get in a situation where id be spending thousands and it constantly be in the shop but I figured if I could get atleast a year of regular driving on it it may be worth it. She wants it gone because it reminds her of her fiance. Im in NC and the car is in FL. I plan to take a trip down there in a week or so and will have the opportunity to look at it when im down there. What should I look for that would determine if its worth buying? What questions should I ask? If its running and at risk of high cost repairs down the road would it be worth getting just so I can use it as a trade in for something more reliable?
