2018 Honda Pilot - 1 owner - 67k miles

i need a vehicle to get my newborn to daycare and home (16 miles RT at residential road speeds)

drove this in the morning and it feels fine. AC blows, shifts fine (got it up to 70 mph) brake pads were done

Tires are about 50%

the glaring issue is the 6 AT warranty that expires in 9/2026 for this generation.

he hasnt had it repair. i could not get it to throw a code, no warning lights during the drive

i plan to contact Honda tomorrow to see if its on the list for warranty but according to the forums they wont due the repair unless you have the code

a bit stuck on how to move forward vs negotiating to protect myself

2005 Honda Civic

$3900 in California. 149,000 miles. Automatic transmission. Was hoping to get something that could last me for another 3 years at least.

Honda accord LX 2004. 198k miles $2200

First car. Looking to last me at least 5 years. Seems about right for the price but I don’t know. Should I just look somewhere else’s. The top of the ceiling is falling off

2008 Mazda3 2.3L - 90k Miles

I’m taking a look at it this weekend. It’s got 90k on it from 2 owners, the 2nd being from 2023 until now. The Carfax is good, a bit minimal on info but shows regular oil changes and that 7 months ago, the computer module was replaced and the transmission was serviced and flushed. It looks like it’s in great shape otherwise. It has newer tires, new shocks and new motor mounts. Asking price is $6500.

My other vehicle is a getting retired from daily driver to weekend fun toy (Jeep.) I do have a kid but we have other vehicles for the family, this will just be my commuter. I work on my own vehicles for the most part, I just don’t want or need another project. For the price, do you think it’s worth it as a solid daily for the next 5-10 years? I only put on about 6-7k miles a year, short commute.

I wanted something a bit newer but the miles, condition, and price point are enticing.

What is specific to these cars should I look for?

2018 Mazda 3

Looking to purchase this car but I’m not sure if I should be scared because of the failed inspection and the engine was replaced at 10k miles, other than that really good maintenance but two minor accidents.
