Trying to end an arguement with a friend.. which house numbers would be south-east, west, and south-west? Thanks

Friend who needs education on maps

my buddy vetiro is in this south-eastern house but keeps saying he's in the south-west house, and he claims that north is straight up even though the map is angled.. can somebody talk some sense into him please?
