AIO? College staff arranged a meeting with my mom about me without informing me

So... I don’t think I’m overreacting about this, but people act like I am.

Long story short, I have a long history of depression and self harm, and I was diagnosed with BPD about a year ago. This happened during a one year break I took from attending classes, which lasted from half the first semester of 2025 to the beginning of the first semester of 2026.

I currently attend a college in the town where I live with my mom, and I’ve been seeing the college therapist since last week.

Today, I found out that the college (not the therapist, but a professor who doesn’t even teach me this semester) called my mother in for a meeting to discuss my “study routines.”

The problem is that I was never informed about this until my mom told me about it only two hours before the meeting.

She said she wasn’t sure what the meeting was about, so I contacted the board myself to ask.
(She did ask me not to, but her argument was literally that as my mother she will always be the one whos supposed to solve these things... Im a 21yo man)

They told me the meeting was meant to discuss strategies to help with my “study routine.” Even after I explained that I had no problem with my family being involved and literally told them I saw no reason to cancel the meeting, they canceled it anyway.

I’ll always defend the idea that schools and colleges should be more involved in the mental health of their students and staff, but I still feel invalidated for not being informed that they were planning to discuss these things with my family.

Now my mom is saying that I don’t care about her and that I think everything revolves around me. At the same time, the college canceled the meeting as soon as they realized I knew about it, even though I had given them the green light to continue.

I don’t think I’m wrong for wanting to know that a meeting is being held with my family to talk about me. And again... why were they willing to hold the meeting when I didn’t know about it, but decided to cancel it as soon as I did?

If the idea was to help me, it didn’t work. My mind always jumps to the worst case scenario, so I spent the whole time stressing and thinking they were going to expel me or something.
