Hi everyone. I've been experiencing hair loss for a long time, but what's really making my life miserable isn't just the shedding, it's the unbearable scalp symptoms.

Here are my exact symptoms:

Constant itching, burning, a needle-pricking sensation, and a weird nerve pain that feels like a bruise when I touch or scratch my scalp.

I used the strongest anti-fungal shampoos (Ketoconazole, Ciclopirox, etc.) and corticosteroid lotions for months, assuming it was Seborrheic Dermatitis. They didn't help at all.

Photo Detail (The Epicenter of the Itch):

I'm attaching a close-up of my scalp. There is no pimple, open wound, or dandruff where my hair parts. However, the hair there has seemingly vanished/melted away as if it took a "direct hit." The skin looks empty, tight, and shiny. The worst part is the insane itching focused exactly on this spot (there is pain too, but the itching is maddening).

Since medical shampoos failed, my research points away from superficial fungus and towards a sneaky autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks and melts the hair follicles from the inside out: Lichen Planopilaris (LPP).

I will be visiting a University Hospital's Trichology Department soon to get a Trichoscopy and request a biopsy from this exact spot. But before I go, I wanted to ask:

Has anyone been diagnosed with LPP or experienced this "hit-like" empty patch alongside intense itching and bruise-like pain? Your insights would be highly appreciated.

(((In the photo, my hair looks oily, but I used Aloe Vera gel to keep it cool. Actually, on the contrary, my hair is very dry.))))
