From CrossFire Computer Cafe Dreams to Finishing My Thesis on My Own PC — 1 Year Anniversary Build Appreciation Post

Exactly 1 year ago today, I finally built my very first PC.

Growing up during the CrossFire/computer café era, having my own setup was honestly one of those “maybe someday” dreams. I used to spend hours in cafés wishing I could experience gaming and creating on my own computer at home. Back then, owning a decent PC felt super far away.

Fast forward to my 4th year in Architecture — I started saving up little by little from my small business. It took a lot of patience, late nights, sacrifices, and self-control, but eventually I was able to build the PC I always dreamed of.

And honestly… it changed everything for me.

Architecture students know how brutal heavy software can get. Rendering, CAD, 3D modeling, multitasking — my old setup would struggle so much before. But after building this PC, my workflow became way smoother and faster. There were countless sleepless nights where this build literally carried me through deadlines.

I can genuinely say I would not have survived thesis season without this PC. It helped me clutch design projects, render on time, revise faster, and stay sane during the most stressful part of college.

Now, a year later, I just officially finished my Thesis… and I’m graduating this June. 🥹

This post is really just me appreciating how far life has come. From dreaming in computer cafés during CrossFire days to finally owning a setup that helped me finish one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Thank you to everyone who helped me choose parts, answered my questions, recommended components, and supported my build journey last year. You guys genuinely became part of this milestone.

Here’s to more upgrades, more projects, and hopefully giving back to others someday the same way the PC community helped me.

Still feels unreal sometimes. 🤍
