Hifiengine manual request

Hello,

I recently acquired both a golden tube audio SEP-1 preamp and SE-40 amp.

I see a website offering both manuals for download but requiring registration. Unfortunately, their new registration is disabled due to security issues.

Can anyone help with alternate sources for these manuals?

Thank you,

Golden Tube Audio SE-40 and SEP-1

I picked up a Golden Tube Audio SE-40 last fall when I was looking for my first tube amp. I wanted to build my first tube amp, as in a dynakit, but it was seeming cost prohibitive.

Golden tube audio hasn't been in business since the 90s, I think. They have very mixed reviews for great sound quality and very questionable reliability. That's my kind of gamble.

Followed the amp ad on craigslist for about 8 weeks and it just wouldn't go away, so I went to listen to it. I was on-board immediately during the opening applause of AIC's Unplugged album and decided to buy it before the first track was over. Incredible detail and depth.

I've since been in contact with sonic craft and purchased their upgrade kit for the amp. I am trying to find the guts to decommission this perfectly functional amp and install the kit. ...any day now.😅😅

In the meantime, I have been collecting music as much as possible. While doing so, I became discontent with my turntable and phono preamp, so I was shopping for a new preamp and browsing the greater Sacramento area when I found a very well established HIFI shop. They had a Golden Tube Audio SEP-1 and just for the sake of matching my tube amp, thought I would make the 35 minute drive to check it out.

Well, It was functional, sounded pretty good, but didn't come with the (rare) factory option phono card... which, BTW, is an internal 9v battery powered card!

So now I'm in the same boat with my TT/phono preamp situation, but I have some awesome vintage eye candy and had a good time with the staff and browsing Fly HiFi in Auburn, Ca.

Thought I would share the photos and some of my excitement.
