For whatever reason, they set the achievement flag to prock at the start of the cutscene where you have to choose between the flag and the switch. So you have to finish the whole DLC, not just the final boss fight with the bat thing. That being said, you can die outside the boss battles, just not in them. This works on Enhanced Edition; I'm not sure about the original version.
