For context, I’m 22F and I’m on nexplanon BC. I have very irregular periods, and when they do happen they are usually about 3 weeks long.
I’m honestly at my wits end, I can’t stop crying and maybe I’m overreacting but I genuinely feel so exhausted. I have noticed before every period I keep getting an unpleasant smell (like rotten meat (sorry for the gross tmi)) and thrush. I have to keep taking fluconazole before periods because I assume the change in my hormones is knocking my pH out of balance. I also find this happens after a couple times of sex when my bf ejaculates inside me :(. But whats really annoying me is that period products are also very irritating to my body and I find the dryness of internal products (tampons and menstrual cups) cause micro tears on my vulva from not getting enough moisture but pads cause me to sweat and that makes me rashy. I opt to free bleed at home just to give her some air because not only are the hormones giving me thrush but the period products are too. On nexplanon i can go months, up to about a year without a period and whats more frustrating is that I have started a period about 5 days before my holiday abroad. I know many girls get their periods before holidays and so i shouldn’t feel sorry for myself but i am because its just sp difficult to maintain a healthy flora around this time. I already had thrush last week (stupidly not putting 2 and 2 together to realise my period was round the corner) anyway it started about 2 days ago and I’m just trying anything to make it hurry up (orgasms, heat pads) but the blood is so idk, almost dry and almost black. Its clumpy and I’m unsure if its the fluconazole or the ‘bv’ balance activ pessaries i’m taking (i don’t have bv but i noticed the smell could signal my pH was slightly off so i thought better safe than sorry. I feel exhausted and bloated and my tummy hurts and I’m so annoyed this happened right before my holiday so any suggestions to make the period easier will be greatly appreciated🥺
