Hello! Also a student (but at an online university for now as I moved here in October), looking to see if anyone knows of anywhere that has a cheaper price on a monthly membership, or a punch card that is less than $15 a visit? I already ran through my $30 for 30 days at the circuit rock gym and I’m looking to get back into it, lest I’m 20, a full time student and I work 30-35 hours a week to support myself so, can’t dish out a ton of money. Open to seeing what you all have to hear! Additionally, the closer to downtown the better, thanks!

Hello! 20 year old student here, moved here mid October and have been renting with 4 others on a month to month basis (living with my landlord), kind of tired of it and ready to up my game and I found a cute studio in goose hollow in a old 1920’s building! I’ll just list the questions below and if you have any insights or answers about any of them, let me know!

-I apparently live in a zone where I can apply for this “transportation wallet” thing and get a bunch of free credits, what is this? How does it work? How/What do I need to apply?

-What is the goose hollow area like generally? Any opinions?

-is $950 a month good for rent? How much do utilities run for you or what’s to expect for one person?

-I will have to get xfinity, how much is internet for you and what’s a good plan for just one person? (Only need home internet, I am still on my family mobile plan!). Additionally, how does getting internet work? Do I set it up myself? Can I get it the same day? Give me the rundown! (I additionally saw plans as low as $20-$30 a month on the website, but I hear people paying much more?)

-What is the comparison of living in an older building (e.g., 1920’s/1930’s) vs a newer development? Will things need to be repaired all the damn time?

-I will be one of the first units in my building, the windows are a bit higher but they are facing the street, I am aware that PDX has high property crime rates, and I’m wondering if my windows be busted open?

-The property manager was super awesome and sweet, I’m wondering if the property manager really matters much when renting a place?

And if you have any other bits of information for me that would be great! I’m especially curious about the transportation wallet, as my landlord told me I could get a bunch of credits for being in the zone for it. Thanks a lot! Please be nice, I’m new to adulting <3
