Brand New PC WiFi Won’t Work

Brand New PC, custom built as it’s my first ever pc build. I’ve got all the windows programs downloaded but haven’t activated with product key(maybe that has smth to do with it?) I’ve tried multiple things online including the command line flushing dns and releasing IP and renewing. Ive also tried reinstalling drivers. Restarted router multiple times. Nothing seems to work. I’ve ordered a WiFi adapter but I shouldn’t need it because of the WiFi on the motherboard, correct? However, I can connect to my personal hotspot on pc, and everything works fine. for some reason my home wifi just doesn’t work.
