I was just served with a lawsuit from a law office representing MCM. This is in Arizona, for around $2k. I've read through other posts by people in a similar position, which have some helpful info. I obviously plan to enter a response to the lawsuit, but thought this community might have some further tips.

I've read a lot of information about MCM failing to prove the validity of the debt.

Weird caveat - the lawsuit lists me and "J Doe Spouse" as defendants. I am not, and never have been married. I may have had an authorized user on the card, but again, no legal record of a spouse of mine exists. Would that simply eliminate a possible defendant, or does that have potential to undermine their case?

General tips appreciated, including any specific info on the potential impact of naming a non-existent spouse in the lawsuit.
