AfroMax

I believed there was a right way to do things. So I studied the Y Combinator model. I learned Figma. I learned how to write proper developer briefs, how to structure sprints, and how to manage a remote technical team. I figured that if I followed the processes developed by people smarter and more accomplished than me, I would get to the finish line.

What I got instead was wahala.

AfroMax App

After three months of hammering away at my keyboard for twelve to sixteen hours a day, I finally rewrote the last block of code left behind by the Nigerian developers I had fired. Up until that moment, I had been vacillating between anger and laughter — anger at how inadequate the codebase was, laughter at the distance between what they had built and the magnitude of what AfroMax was meant to become.

That's the hook.
