Am I screwed?

This fell out the ceiling when I was taking out the air vent to clean it. At first I thought it was old fiberglass, but now I’m concerned for asbestos. Can’t tell what it is but it got all over my kitchen floor. House was built in 1905, has been renovated since. I bagged a sample for testing if necessary. There does seem to be little pieces of spray foam mixed in there too.

New tank support

I received a betta as a gift approximately 2 weeks ago. It was completely unexpected and so I wasn’t able to cycle my tank before putting the fish in. I gave myself a crash course and did my best with learning everything I could to keep him alive/safe/happy. Right now he’s in a 10g tank with a heater (sits at around 80-81.5 F) and sponge filter. I regret the substrate I chose (fluval stratum with 2 layers of sand on top, but the substrate was coming up through the sand and driving me crazy so I added a layer of gravel rocks on top) but I was on a time crunch so I just left it. Added a few plants, didn’t realize that some plants cannot be buried until I had already thrown out the packaging, so I don’t know what is what. I’ve been checking his water daily with the API master test kit, keeping ammonia, nitrate/nitrites at 0, pH seems to be stable at 7.4 for the most part, doing water changes as needed and using Seachem prime as well. I’ve got some matrix carbon in there to reduce coloration from the tannins in my wood but thinking of switching to seachem purigen since the carbon doesn’t seem to be doing much. I have not added any plant fertilizer yet since my tank isn’t cycled yet. Slowly increased his feeding to the package’s recommended 3-4 pellets twice a day. Recently discovered they can jump even through tiny gaps, so I added a DIY cheesecloth cover over the gap in the lid until I figure out a better solution. Looking for any tips on how I can improve my tank. I’ve noticed the past few days he seems to be glass surfing and I can’t figure out why. All advice is welcome, but please give me some grace! I’m new to this and just trying to do my best
