[Help] LFOTool only showing as VST2 in Cubase 15 Pro (Windows 11) - No .vst3 file installed?
System Specs:
- OS: Windows 11
- DAW: Cubase 15 Pro
- Plugin: Xfer LFOTool (officially purchased and downloaded)
The Issue:
I installed LFOTool, but it doesn't show up in the Cubase VST Plug-in Manager at all by default. I am trying to get it to run as a VST3, but it seems the installer didn't provide one.
What happens:
The only way I can get Cubase to recognize LFOTool is by manually enabling the "VST2" button in the Plug-in Manager (since VST2 is disabled by default in Cubase 15) and pointing it to my custom folder where LFOTool-x64.dll is located. However, it only recognizes it as a legacy VST2 plugin.
What I have already tried (Troubleshooting):
- Moved the .dll file: I tried placing
LFOTool-x64.dlldirectly into the default VST3 folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3), but Cubase still only sees it as VST2. - Deep System Search: I used the "Everything" search tool to scan my entire PC. I found the LFOTool presets/library folders in my Documents, and I found the
.dllfile, but there is absolutely no.vst3file anywhere on my hard drive. - Rescanned multiple times: Refreshed the Plug-in Manager in Cubase after every change.
My Questions:
- Does the official Windows installer of LFOTool only include a VST2 (
.dll) version by default? - How do I get the actual VST3 version? I've heard rumors about a Beta 1.805 build on the Xfer forums that includes VST3 support — is this the only way to get it working properly in Cubase 15?
Any exact links or instructions would be highly appreciated. I just want to get this working and move on! Thanks.
