Looking for tips on maintaining humidity for emperor scorp with drainage layer

For those of you with a drainage layer in your scorpions tank, what is the best protocol for maintaining moisture in the enclosure? Ive been doing surface misting daily and i poured about an inch of water into the hydroball layer before putting the substrate on top of it when i built the enclosure about 2 weeks ago. Should I be pouring water into the corners of the tank regularly in order to keep the hydroballs wet? How much water/how often should I be doing this? Is this a viable alternative to daily surface misting or is it good to do both? I travel for work sometimes and I can ask my family members to mist her enclosure for me but would like to know if the drainage layer can help me maintain moisture in her enclosure for longer periods without daily misting.

Stress indicator or just scorpion being goofy??

Yall my emperor Datura has taken to crawling upside down on her tank screen pretty actively, is this normal scorpion shananigans or a sign that shes stressed? Had her about 2 weeks and transferred her from a small to full sized enclosure about a week ago.

Just moved my emperor into her new home which i think is a decent improvement over the small enclosure i brought her home in. I feel like i maybe made my drainage layer too deep. I wet my reptisoil until I could squeeze together a clump of it in my hand and have it keep its shape without dripping and added 2 small water dishes but my hygrometer is still lingering around 66-69%. Fed her 3 superworms as soon as she moved in hoping to make up for the stress of the move! Should I add a heat source on the dry side? Ive heard conflicting advice about that.

Meet Datura! I recently got this gorgeous emperor scorpion and am looking for advice as a first time keeper. Currently have her in this small enclosure in millipede substrate but am working on putting together a bioactive enclosure in a ten gallon tank. I am a first timer to keeping arthropods but after some research my current plan is to lay down an inch layer of hydroballs, followed by 5-6 inches of reptisoil, and adding springtails, some pothos and fittonia plants, 2 hides and a water dish as well as some cork branches.

I fed her 3 crickets as soon as I brought her home and have moistened the substrate shes in now by pouring some water in the corners and misting the entire inside of the enclosure twice a day. Only had her for 2 days, shes currently alternating between hiding in her hut for extended periods of time and going crazy with the glass surfing for several minutes which i hope is normal for a newly rehomed scorpion but she does seem a bit stressed.

Think i will pour a little more water into corners of her current tank tomorrow, wondering if i should invest in a humidity/temp gauge and possibly a heat source? I live in South Florida so humidity and temp are naturally high but she is being kept indoors in AC around 75 degrees which from what i understand is as cold as she can comfortably stand. Also wondering what is the best method for keeping a wet and dry side to her future larger enclosure, I figure keeping water bowl and heavier misting on wet side would do it? Also would appreciate advice on how to go about pre wetting the substrate while prepping the enclosure, and other advice for how to keep her happy and comfortable in general is appreciated!!
