I’m sharing this to see if anyone else has had a similar experience, as I’m at my wit's end with xTool.

I bought my F1 back in November 2023 for 1500€. It's had a very easy life—my main business is a 3D print farm, so I only use the F1 lightly, mostly for engraving Dibond panels.

Out of nowhere, the IR laser started losing power mid-job and engraving with zero consistency. The blue laser still works perfectly. I cleaned everything, used the same files, but nothing fixed it.

After weeks of back-and-forth with support:

  • They confirmed the laser head is dead.
  • They won't repair it because their German warehouse "is unable to carry out repairs on this specific part".
  • They told me I can't fix it myself because it needs a dust-free environment.
  • Their grand solution? Spend another $999 for a new F1 or $2999 for an Ultra.

Keep in mind, I already had to get my first unit replaced right after buying it, AND I had to fight them to replace a faulty slider later on.

The software is great, but the hardware reliability is terrible. You simply cannot run a business relying on machines that die after a few hundred hours and a company that won't actually repair them.

I’m currently in the market for 3 new fiber lasers, but after this, xTool has lost my trust entirely. I’ll be taking my money to Gweike.

Anyone else dealing with dead laser heads just outside of the warranty window?
