Is it normal for capital one to ask for check verification from employer before they release an extended regulation hold?

I tried submitting a $2100 check, but told me that instead of receiving it this Friday, that I’ll have to get in 60 days from now because they need double verification that the check doesn’t bounce and payor who wrote the check authorized and signed it.

They told me to call my employer to confirm the checking number and the amount disbursed on the check.

Is this normal protocol especially for new checking accounts?

I never deposited mobile checks before.
