Hello all, so was driving Kia Sportage 2015 AWD with single axle caravan attached and drivers side wheel completely tore off the car as per images. The car had gone in for diff oil seal replacement on Tuesday (28th April) and this happened today (Monday 4th May) so less than a week, is this just a coincidence or would it point to garage being at fault?

UPDATE: the garage has agreed to put it right at their own expense. They don’t believe it was the bearing, as when they road tested it on the Tuesday there was no noise reported or any indication the bearing was damaged.

SECOND UPDATE: garage are claiming driveshaft had broken and was corroded. However, considering they had it in less than a week ago for work on the rear diff I find it hard to believe this wasn’t spotted.

EDIT: For all those saying not properly maintained, ignored noise, typical Kia owner, etc. this car passed an MOT 6 weeks before this happened in which the wheel bearings are meant to be checked nothing was noted on this. It then went it for rear differential seal after this work was completed the mechanic road tested the vehicle and confirmed it was all good. The car has been maintained regularly inline with KIA guidelines and all worked flagged since I’ve owned the car has been done.
