Watched Kara and it turned out to be quite disappointing.

The lead character starts off in a darker shade in the first half and slowly shifts towards a better side by the end. It sounds interesting, but the execution doesn’t really work.

There are a few decent moments, especially one scene just before the interval. Apart from that, most of the emotional scenes feel forced and become tiring to watch. The father son sentiment doesn’t connect at all.

The biggest issue is the writing. The movie itself shows a possible solution early on when Dhanush meets his father, but instead of taking that route, it ignores it and drags the story just to extend the runtime.

Jayaram is the only one who stands out and brings some relief. Mamitha’s role feels completely wasted.

Overall, it’s a very average film with very little working for it. At times, it even feels like a chore to sit through.

Getting serious Aaytha Ezhuthu vibes.

With TVK and Vijay shaking things up, feels like a new political era might be starting.

What do you all think?
