We just took him to the vet and they referred to him as a her. Now when I got him my grandma said that he was a male because he had a bigger red spot (she read about it online) at the top of his head so I left it at that. Then when he and my other bird mated (who I thought to be female by the same logic) he was on the bottom. But I still thought he was male because his voice was deeper than his friend's, but maybe that doesn't make sense for parrots idk. I read another article now and turns out he shows more female traits.

It seems to be blood? I've never seen a feather like this before, is it possible he bit it off himself? He has mites but he's been much better lately, I've only seen him itch a few times and he's gotten much more fluffy. I know when he was itchier he would bite at his wings but it seems he's stopped doing that since there's new feathers there. I'm gonna push to take him to the vet today but until then, opinions?
