Getting practice questions right didn’t mean I was ready for the AWS exam.

One thing I realized while studying for AWS certs:

Getting questions right isn’t the same as being exam-ready. Back in December, I was scoring well on ACG practice tests but still noticed a pattern:

I could recognize answers faster than I could actually reason through them.

The real exam felt much more like:

- tradeoffs

- “best” answers

- operational constraints

- cost vs performance decisions

That’s the main reason I started building my own practice system. One thing I’ve been experimenting with lately:

fewer memorization questions, more scenario-heavy decision making.

Curious if others felt the same while studying.
