Adult ADHD testing at 34 and the report said things about myself I didn’t have words for until someone wrote them down
I’ve been sitting on this for a few weeks trying to figure out how to write it without it sounding like a before and after story because it’s not really that, everything is still hard… but something is different..
I did my evaluation through the sachs Center and mostly because I’d read that they specially work with adults w ho have spent years developing compensatory strategies, which is a clinical way of saying people who built ab enormous amount of scaffolding to appear fine..
The part that got me was a section describing how my attention and working memory patterns interact with my emotional regulation. I’d always know n those two things were both problems but I’d been treating them as separate.. Turns out they are connected in a specific way that has a name and a specific mechanism and I’d been compensation for both simultaneously..
I don’t know that it changes what i do on a Tuesday morning, but mowing the actual shape of what I’m working with is genuinely not nothing..
Distance caregiving for an elderly parent and real logistics of monitoring from hours away
The anxiety of being a caregiver from a geographic distance is different from local caregiving anxiety and it doesn't really go away by trying to worry less about it. The practical gap is real: something could happen and the window between the event and anyone knowing is genuinely wide when no system is in place. What families who are hours away from aging parents have found is that the check-in burden alone becomes its own problem. Daily calls are manageable until they're not, and when a parent starts not answering regularly the cognitive spiral for the person calling is hard to manage without some baseline of "they're okay" that doesn't require a call every single time. For distance caregivers the question of what's actually monitoring the situation between check-ins matters a lot. That multi-member status visibility distance caregivers describe needing is the core of what the caregiver app through bay alarm medical is set up to handle for families spread across different cities, available on their mobile devices, and having multiple people connected rather than relying on one sibling to relay information helps with the distribution problem too
Can we receive any benefits from Govt of Italy?
i posted here two weeks ago about my dad’s death… He spent 30+ years in Italy and paid taxes. He was going to apply for pension next year. but of course unfortunately.. That’s not possible anymore. So my mother asked me to find out if it’s possible to get any benefits from there..
PS. I have no idea about Italy’s policies, apologies if it comes off as bad. Thank you
