Long story short, Telus was way too much and I got a much better deal with intl calling with Freedom, however they were unable to port my Telus 807 number because my original number is out of their domain

I am looking to maintain my Telus (807) number for a short time frame, especially with all the 2FA that I can only try to switch all of them over in a timely fashion. Plus drs offices, etc.

Is VOIP.MS a good solution? Would it receive texts/calls, and even voicemails? Looks like pricing is about 2$ a month, and I really wouldn't get many calls or texts. Just check it once or twice a week and specifically check it if i need to switch a 2FA to my new number. TIA, sorry for the dumb question but this is a very new concept to me, I really didn't expect I would need to switch numbers until it was too late
