Idk if this is a common problem or not but I cant find a solution so im hopeing someone here knows whats going on.

Incase its needed im on android and im using the mobile app.

In the new episodes tab in podcasts im constantly getting older podcast episodes that I already watched pop back up. Theyre about a month old each time. When I click mark as played on an older episode they dont come back. If I do the same on a new episode they will eventually come back in a month.

Any idea why this is happening and is there a way to get them to actually not come back?
