Neon tetras ich in community tank

20galL, cycled and planted! 1 betta, 10 neon tetras, 6 false julii corys

While staring at my tank today I realize a few of the neons have the typical white dots on their fins and one on their body. It looks to be at the very beginning stages for most besides one who has a few more spots than the rest (who mostly have 1 or 2 ich dots)

No one is acting out of character and none of the other fish are sick so I’m assuming this might’ve come with them as they’ve been here a week and I don’t have a quarantine tank.

Currently I’m slowly heating the tank from 77 to 81 to hopefully kill the ich before it spreads anywhere else in the tank

Used canister filter

I just bought a 55gal + equipment & stand on marketplace for $55! They gave me their canister filter but I have no idea how to go about cleaning/setting things up as I’ve never used one! My other tanks (10gal & 20galL) use sponge filters.

I’d love to keep the beneficial bacteria (if there is any) but I’m also genuinely not sure about the quality it was in before we picked it up. The single fish that came with it (ID unclear) def has ammonia burns in his gills so I can’t imagine it’s cycled and that there’s any viable bacteria left to extract BUT if I’m mistaken, let me know!

They also have some mesh bags tucked into the substrate at the bottom of the tank, both of which are submerged in a very small layer of the tank water it came in. And a fuck ton of trumpet snails.

Fish ID Help: white cloud mountain minnow?

(Repost because I forgot to attach photos the first time!)

Just picked up a great deal on a 55g and, while dumping the water, they realized there was a straggler fish! I’d love to give him a home here but I’m not sure we’re the right place to start. I could possibly surrender him to my LFS but if I’m honest, I’m not sure if that would be the most ethical option either. At the very least, it would possibly give him an opportunity to thrive that I can’t give him here.

Fear not- the mason jar is just to quickly acclimate him to temp bc he came here in a leaking grocery store vegetable bag!

Current tanks:

10g betta

20gL tropical community (he will be spending the night in here bc I don’t have a filter in my other tank and the 55g is sitting outside until I can clear the trumpet snail infestation it came with)
