Imagine if Ash had already won leagues like Kalos and Sinnoh before Pokémon Journeys, on top of Alola.

Do you think he would’ve been much stronger going into the Masters Eight?

Or would it make things less interesting since part of his journey is losing and improving?

How different do you think his battles would be if he already had multiple championships?

I’ve been thinking about this and Dawn might have one of the best character arcs in the series.

Her journey with contests, her struggles with confidence, and how she grows over time felt really well developed compared to other companions.

She wasn’t just “support” for Ash Ketchum, she had her own goals and story.

Do you think she’s the best written companion, or is there someone better?

Ash has had some tough League losses, but two of the most debated ones are the Indigo League (Kanto) and the Unova League.

In the Indigo League, during his match against Ritchie, Team Rocket interferes right before and during the battle. Ash gets distracted trying to get Pikachu back, wastes time, and ends up starting the match already at a disadvantage. On top of that, Charizard refuses to obey him, which ultimately costs him the match. It wasn’t just a normal loss — everything that could go wrong, did.

Then there’s the Unova League, where Ash faces Cameron in a full battle. Cameron forgets to bring a sixth Pokémon, so it ends up being a 6 vs 5… and Ash still loses. Even worse, Cameron’s Riolu evolves into Lucario during the battle and ends up defeating Ash’s last Pokémon. This one feels less like bad luck and more like a straight-up poor performance.

One loss had constant interruptions and disobedience issues.

The other was a clean battle… against an opponent with fewer Pokémon.

So which one do you think was worse?

The chaotic Indigo League loss… or the Unova loss against a 5-Pokémon team?
