Quick little something
Watch as I tie myself into strings,
cut myself into ribbons,
knot myself into a finish line,
& loophole myself back to the start.

Can We? Con-Oui! Très noué,
Wishing for time split in two;
one for me, one for you.
Unshackled, unwanted,
unchanged—am I? I am
Then storm will bring—
un éclair d’inspiration—
her Nikon camera sings.
We’re holding hands—et
our fingers dance.
Guitar strings thrumming,
Piano-man in Poe’s Law;
Je fais taire l’oiseau.
Sacré Dieu—The Raven,
quoth he: “Nevermore.”
Delicate doorjamb music,
foot caught in your fingertrap.
For you, I wouldn’t not move it—
but I cannot knot-stay—in ether—
Je marcherais une année-lumière;
you’re only one Arkansas away.
My heart feels knotted,
filled with butterflies;
mon cœur bat vite.
Rain cannot wash
these bees away.
Une fois de plus;
call me unto you,
once more, encore.
For I would be sullied
if we stopped at friends.
Can We? Con Oui.
Wishing for time split in two;
one for me, One for you.
Unshackled, unchained.
Unchanged—am I? I am
Then storm will bring:
Head like a hurricane,
Heartbeat drumming,
Holding hands—et
Our fingers dance.
Guitar string thrumming,
Piano-man, Poe’s Law;
Je fais taire l’oiseau.
Sacré Dieu; The Raven
Quoth he: “Nevermore.”
Delicate open-doorjamb music,
Foot caught in your fingertrap,
For you, I wouldn’t not move it.
But, I can’t knot-stay—
Je marcherais une année-lumière;
You’re only one Arkansas away.
My Heart feels knotted,
Filled with butterflies;
Mon cœur bat vite.
Rain cannot wash
These bees away.
Une fois de plus;

Then storm will bring:
Head like a hurricane,
Heartbeat drumming,
Holding hands—et
Our fingers dance.
Guitar string thrumming,
Piano-man, Poe-try;
Je fais taire l’oiseau.
I’d silence The Raven
Quoth he: “Nevermore.”
My Heart is knotted,
Filled with butterflies;
Mon cœur bat vite.
Rain cannot wash
These bees away.
Une fois de plus;
Call me unto you
Once more, encore.

How about:
Feet feeling ground.

the second is spaced out,
So check your gravitational field,
you might be an alien…

The final reference, of course, is not originally mine, but it felt right to pay homage to Lorraine Hansberry’s *A Raisin in the Sun* &-in turn- to Langston Hughes’s poem *Harlem,* often remembered by the name: *A Dream Deferred.* Which was Hansberry’s original inspiration for the title & some of the content of her play!
I hope you enjoyed reading this and perhaps found some insight in it as well:) Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!✌️
