Auto Accident Injury Claim
I feel like this should be an easy question to answer, but it potentially could have a big impact and seeking some advice. I was involved in a car crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Had ct scan, blood work etc and was discharged. I have sent my auto insurance all of the bills and now the person that is at fault insurance (Avis Auto) is trying to settle the claim for health bills. I have about 40k of bills and they are only offering 3k. I do have $5k coverage for medical with my auto insurance. Since the bills have not been paid I would assume I need to have the other insurance cover the bills and some cost for pain and suffering. If I settle with less than my total cost of bills I would need to file an underinsured to cover the medical bills with my insurance. I would assume my auto insurance would then pursue subrogation to get their money back. I don’t want to have to cover the medical bills since it’s not my fault.
I do have health insurance and not sure if I need to run the medical bills through them?
