Catchphrases

I feel like a lot of the people on MAFS have catchphrases that they keep going back to. Like Mel with the blue and pink. Danny with the ride or die. In the British version, one of the brides would fall so much about needing an alpha male.

To me, as a psychologist, I feel like the experts endorse it and go with it but I don’t think they should. It’s allows them to keep reinforcing and believing in stereotypes and ideal of relationships that are not attainable.

Absolutely shocked

I will be transparent and say I am not completely caught up in MAFS, I am only part way through. But the second dinner party left me shook. I love a good bit of reality tv and will begrudgingly admit that I love to watch a bit of drama. But I felt sick watching that episode. I have never seen such vicious, horrible and nasty behaviour. And what is more upsetting almost, is that it is grown women. One of them having a young daughter. What kind of example is she setting for that child??

It almost made me want to switch off because I felt so horrible after watching it. I was almost begging for someone to step in and stop it.

I’m not naive enough to think that things are not scripted and organised to make the drama we all want to see, but the way Brooke, Gia and Bec (who I as surprised at cos I had been backing her up until that dinner party) acted was just embarrassing
